Dear Parent:
This economy has affected every breathing human being in some shape or form. We, as parents, have to continue to persevere and stay focused on our well being and most importantly the future of our kids. What school they attend and how will we get it done is a constant conversation and worry. The worry starts in middle school and it intensifies with the high school decision and the all-important college decision.
We weigh whether it should be a public school or private. Well, private could cost close to 50 thousand dollars for four years of high school and college is double that amount and then some. The great thing about the high school process is that we do have options and opportunities to make it cost effective if our children are committed and taught well at an early age.
They can reward us and themselves with an opportunity at the college level if they focus and are taught extremely well by the people outside the family that we have placed their educational and athletic future in.
The reward could be an Academic or Athletic Scholarship and although it is not an easy feat to accomplish, it is our job as parents, to put them on the right track with a solid investment that would enhance their opportunity, thus saving funds allocated for college.
Frank and Eddie Johnson stand alone in the valley in terms of experience on the basketball court with regards to training. These two individuals relationship started back in 1981 when both finished college and were selected to play in the Las Vegas Pizza Hut Classic and the Hawaii Classic.
They never played together in the NBA, but after battling against one another for twelve years they gained a mutual respect for each other.
Frank went on to work with the Phoenix Suns and eventually became the head coach while Eddie played 6 more seasons and ironically became the Color Analyst for the Suns during Frank’s tenure as coach.
And now 28 years later, they want to teach your young student athlete how to play the game they love.
Love is a key word when it comes to the curriculum of 2J Basketball Academy. That is what we teach and if your child comes to understand the need to love their craft, well the sky is the limit regardless of what college level happens to recruit or show interest down the road. We build character and we teach commitment, but most importantly both Eddie and Frank will do every minute of the instruction.
We discuss the growth process of playing high school basketball and the myths of being recruited. We discuss the pitfalls that will destroy your chances of getting and keeping your opportunity or scholarship. Our goal is to build mentally tough and confident basketball players.
We guarantee that your child will become a better ball player, but most importantly a better person.
That’s our make-up and we stand by that belief. Please come see us soon and sign up for a introductory Lesson.
2J Basketball Academy
Dear Student
We are looking for players who want to get better. We are not in the business of babysitting. We want your heart and soul when it comes to basketball. That’s the simple key. It is not complicated. Basketball is a simple sport if you play hard and listen to your coaching. Basketball is too competitive to be compromised. Don’t mess with the game or it will mess with you. If you don’t stretch you pull a muscle, if you don’t concentrate on your shooting you shoot a low percentage. If you don’t pay attention in practice you forget plays. It’s that simple if you give the game your hearts you excel if you don’t you fail!
If you answer yes to every question then the message is clear, you indeed love the game of basketball.
1. Do you think about basketball all the time?
2. Do you look forward to watching a game in person or television?
3. Is basketball a priority over everything except Faith, Family, School and household duties?
4. Do you arrive for practice early?
5. Are you the last player off the floor when practice is over?
6. Do you like to be coached?
7. Do you want to improve your ball handling?
8. Do you want to find out how you can improve your all around scoring?
9. Do you want to become better defensively?
10. Do you want the secrets to becoming a great leader?
